Since its debut on Kickstarter in 2013, the Zortrax M200 was one of the printers you chose when you wanted a reliable machine that delivered great, consistent results.
We found it to be one of the best 3D printers for ABS filaments. The M200 wasn’t so great printing with PLA, exotics, or anything else that doesn’t require a heated, perforated bed. But it is a 3D printer workhorse geared towards a specific material. Therefore, we awarded it with All3DP’s “Best 3D Printer Workhorse 2017”.
Today, the Polish company Zortrax announced it’s successor, the Zortrax M200 Plus.
It will offer several improvements, the most prominent being WiFi and Ethernet connectivity. This will enable users to remotely control multiple devices operating in automated 3D printing farms.
You can also remotely start or stop the printing process through the Z-Suite application and monitor its progress with the built-in camera.
Additional improvements of the Zortrax M200 Plus include:
The elastic material Z-Semiflex lets you make objects like seals or rubber elements used in automotive industry, or realistic models of blood vessels and arteries, which helps to plan the treatment of patients in the medical branch.
We’re still waiting for the price and specifications of the Zortrax M200 Plus. All in all, it looks like Zortrax wants to get up to par with the Ultimaker 3 portfolio – more about that here.
